Guiding principles for action.

My guiding principles for coaching include the following three elements:

Appreciative Inquiry

My coaching approach is to build on strengths and to use an appreciate approach to understanding client strengths. Affirming effective practices and approaches is a proven approach to building additional strengths rather than internalizing weaknesses.

Building a culture of learning

I am passionate about learning through reflective practice and it is a much needed skill in our complex 21st century world to help us navigate emerging issues and changing environments. To do this, we need continuous learning through reflective practice, focus on self-development, self-awareness and self-regulation.

Mutual commitment to the process

A productive coach-client relationship is a unique relationship that is built on mutual commitment to a goal, and trust that is built through the process. Within this connection, both the coach and client commit to their respective responsibilities to produce a strong atmosphere for success.
